The Associated Press (AP) reports today that the national average of a gallon of gas dropped 0.1 cent overnight to $3.622, according to a survey of gas stations by AAA and the Oil Price Information Service.
This marks the first time in 18 days where gas prices haven’t climbed to a new record.
Analysts say this may be the end of rising fuel prices and that it may be leveling off.
“It could go up just a little bit more,” said Fred Rozell, retail pricing director at the Oil Price Information Service, in Wall, N.J., but, “I think it’s running out of steam.”
Should we get excited about a 0.1 cent drop in gas prices? Maybe not, but as long as prices keep going down and not up, that might start making consumers a little bit happier.
