Chrysler is beginning a recall of 180,963 of its 2007 to 2008 Sebring and Dodge Avenger models in mid-April to fix an electrical problem that could trigger a variety of conditions. According to the federal government, “engine no-start, dead battery, an inoperative cruise control or remote start system, and/or engine stalling” are some some of the problems being encountered with these specific models.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the recall only involves vehicles with standard tire-pressure monitoring systems. Apperantly “unused electrical connectors” for that system “may become corroded and could short circuit.” It is noted that the most serious consequence of the problem is that “engine stalling could cause a crash without warning.”
Chrysler and Dodge dealers will obviously seal the wires for the tire-pressure monitoring system for free. If you feel you are affected by this recall head on over to your local Dodge/Chrysler dealer so they can rectify it for you.
