It’s early but it has already been caught in it’s early stages of testing. BMW’s new Z4 replacement was spotted in a bit of winter testing in the Arctic Circle. Not much is known for now but there is much speculation.
First off, it is strongly rumored to have a retractable hardtop in place of the traditional soft top, at least as an option. Also, it will get a version of BMW’s sweet twin-turbo inline six from the 335i as well as some of the suspension architecture. It’s gonna need that turbo power as from the looks of it the roadster has grown in width and length, so expect a nice jump in weight.
The new car is expected to debut in late 2009 as a 2010 model. Look for concept forms of it at upcoming auto shows around the globe.
