Nissan of America announced that they are recalling 16,365 2008 Infiniti EX35 and 2009 Nissan Murano vehicles. The vehicles are being recalled to correct software in the passenger airbag control unit, which on some cars has failed or gone faulty.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated:
“Due to incorrect software programming, the airbag control unit may cause the passenger airbag not to operate as designed if the vehicle battery becomes significantly discharged. This could result in the passenger airbag not inflating in a crash in which it was designed to do so, and increasing the risk of injury.”
Bring your Car over to your Nissan dealer who will reprogram the faulty airbag control unit free of charge. The recall is expected to begin sometime this month. If your car is affected by this recall than call Infiniti at (800) 662-6200 or Nissan at (800) 647-7261. This is a safety matter so get over there right away!
Above and Below: Both these Crossovers are affected by the same recall….
