The Nürburgring. It is a legendary race course with a pedigree and history unmatched by almost any other circuit in the world. Affectionately nicknamed the “green hell”by the famous race car driver Sir Jackie Stewart, the Nurburgring cuts through a dense section of Germany’s famed Black Forest. It is a grueling circuit and is widely considered the toughest and most demanding purpose-built race track in the world.
For this very purpose, the ring’ has been the home for development of all of Aston martins current models. The British sports car manufacture uses the circuit for testing and development of vehicles, ranging from ride and handling to tires and cooling systems. “All new models are also subjected to a 6,200-mile high-speed signoff test at the Nürburgring,” the automaker said in a statement.
So it is fitting that Aston Martin has just announced they are opening a testing and development center at the famed course. The company will convert an existing building adjacent to the Nordschleife circuit, which it plans to open in May. The facility will also be used to host customer-focused events and other press type events as well.
