Ok, ok, so it’s not like Ford was gonna make a super fast Edge crossover. But the newly announced Ford Edge Sport looks sporty. This new car should attract a lot of attention by the average passerby.
The Edge Sport can be more defined as a “sporty appearance package”. This can only mean one thing in this segment, enormous wheels and a cool looking body kit. Maybe some trim?
That is exactly what it is. Monster 22-inch rim, which are optional(hey the standard set are 20’s, no complaints here). Also the Sport gets it’s own body-kit and smoked lenses on the head and tail lamps. The eight-piece body kit includes a unique front airdam, rocker sill skirts, lower door caps and a rear skirt.
The interior gets it’s own treatment with dark-gray leather seats with suedelike inserts and light gray stitching. The same contrasting stitches are used on the leather-upholstered steering wheel and shift knob and the center console has an etched metal-style trim.
The colors offered up for this model are gonna be blue, silver, black, or red. Look for it at dealers nationwide by the fall. If you want sporty looks, and don’t care too much about actual sports like performance, the Edge Sport might be right for you.
