Not quite, thank god, but a worthy car for a worthy cause. The new pink Caddy is a 306-hp CTS sports sedan. The car was custom built for an auction to benefit the MusicCares organization.
But the real deal here is the “Queen of Soul”, Aretha Franklin, has signed the custom one-off Cadillac. Cadillac says it is “tickled pink”(corny!) to participate in the auction, which gets underway during Grammy week.
The pink Cadillac, is inspired by Franklin’s hit song “Freeway of Love.” Especially the lyric, “goin’ ridin’ on the freeway of love in my pink Cadillac,” it is one of the more memorable lines from the song. Aretha Franklin, a 17-time Grammy-winning singer will be honored at the 18th annual MusiCares Person of the Year dinner and concert.
