Hot of the heels of the TT-S spy photos come new evidence of an even more uber TT. Rumours have been flying around the net for months about an even hotter TT than the TT-S. This one would have a little extra letter that makes a big difference, R. As is RS, Audi’s flagship designation for it’s most breathtaking high performance vehicles.
The prototype was spotted during winter testing and gives some distinct clues to it’s difference to other TT’s. First the body-kit is all it’s own and way more aggressive. Second, wheels just like the RS4’s conceal massive brakes, needed to haul down a rumored 365hp car.
That power figure is a byproduct of a turbocharged version of parent company Volkswagen’s 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine. This brings back a golden tradition of turbo Audi five-cylinders. The TT-RS will place its power to the ground via a standard six-speed manual or an optional seven-speed version of Audi’s S tronic double-clutch gearbox, with a Haldex-style four-wheel-drive. Seven speeds, progress is great!
No one is really sure when this one is slotted to come out but look for it to be at the top of the TT food chain when it does.
Above: Wow TT-RS, what big brakes you have. The better to haul your ass down from triple digits, my dear….
