General Motors announced Friday that they were recalling over 313,000 vehicles. The cause of the recall is a potential fluid leak that could cause the passenger to loose control of the vehicle.
The recall is affective worldwide, but it affects over 275,000 domestic vehicles. The vehicles include the 2005-2007 model year Cadillac CTS and STS sedans, and SRX crossover, as well as the 2006-2007 model year Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky Roadsters.
GM said the seal on the rear axel, which provides power to the rear wheels, does not meet all specifications, and could leak fluid. The leak could cause a drive wheel to suddenly jam up and lock while the car is being driven. This could cause the driver to loose control and lead to a possible accident or worse.
GM is sending letters to all affected customers. If you are involved in the recall then head on over to your nearest GM dealer. This is a major safety issue and should be taken care of immediately.
