News has been leaking from the Chrysler camp that the company is set to drop three of it’s slower selling models. The Pacifica and the Magnum are rumored to be on the list, and surprisingly, the PT Cruiser as well. The PT Cruisers demise has come as a bit of a shock to a few folks. Apperantly here is sort of a nice sized fan base for the retro-modern-wagon-thing. Though the decision decision is not final, it is expected to be made today. All three models have seen a steady decline in sales over the past year, experiencing an overall average of about 30 percent decline in sales. This move is a small piece of the big plans Cerberus Capital Management LP has for their newly aquired Chrysler brand. They are trying to move at a rapid pace to make this transition as smooth as possible for the consumer, while completly revamping the company from the inside out. A lot of “unessesary” white collar jobs are expected to go as well as about 1,000 privately contracted jobs. I’ve mentioned before how Chrysler is going to experience a model line-up revamping and this seems to be the first steps of just that. How this will affect current owners and investors of the brand, well ,we will have to wait and see.

I don’t mean to be too in your face, but I’m not sure I agree with this. Anyhow, thanks for sharing and I think I’ll write a post on this on my blog soon.
