GM today announced that starting with the 2009 models that have their OnStar System, the system will have the ability to help locate your car if it is stolen. Unlike the popular Lo-Jack System that just tracts your car if it is stolen, the OnStar System will actually notify police, possibly flash the lights so the police know which is the correct car that was stolen, and amazingly, cut the fuel to the engine to slow it down so the police can nab the criminal. You can learn more by reading the GM press release that outlines many of the new features. I have always thought the OnStar System was a great move by GM years ago, and just maybe it will start to help them sell more cars with great features like this.
