Well the September new car sales numebrs are out and I must admit I’m a bit surprised. With a soft economy, and a credit crunch in the mortgage business, GM actually showed some gains. the SUV and crossovers seem to be making headway. GM sales were up just a notch, but given they had to pay attention to the UAW strike that is actually pretty amazing. Honda and Nissan are the big winners lately it seems with sales increases of 9% and 6% respectively. Chrysler was down, but Ford had the largest drop off more than 20%! With numbers like this and this past summer not being good, a change at the top at Ford can’t be far behind. Toyota even with a bad month still outsold GM.
