Toyota Motor Company in conjunction with the NHTSA, announced a recall yesterday for the 2007 Lexus ES 350 and the 2007 Toyota Camry. The recall involves the placement of the floor mats. Apparently some of the mats were improperly installed or became unsecured and could potentially cause problems by wedging under or on top of the gas and/or brake pedals. Some drivers experienced high uncontrolled acceleration because of this happening.
Separately, Nissan Motor Company announced a recall for the Infiniti QX4 and Nissan Pathfinder manufactured from 1997 to 2001. It involves the replacement of the tube used to pump gas into the vehicles. The tube seems to be likely to corrode and Nissan wants to recall all 420,000+ vehicles to replace the defective piece.
If you are the owner of one or more of these vehicles, please take it to your nearest
Toyota or Nissan dealer to have the recall performed. There will be no charge and only an authorized dealer is able to handle the recall.
