The 2011 Ram 1500 Express, which was called the Ram 1500 Adventurer when it was first discussed by Chrysler, will go on sale sometime in the second quarter of 2011. The 2011 Ram Express will be one of the least expensive pickup trucks available with a V8 engine, starting at $23,830, including the destination charge. The new Ram Express will be one of the cheapest V8-powered trucks available, and will be aimed at sport-truck buyers who will no doubt be impressed by the truck’s 390 hp and 407 lb-ft of torque.
The Ram 1500 Express was originally introduced as a concept called the Ram Adventurer in February. When the similarly value-oriented Ram Tradesman work truck received an unexpectedly large amount of support, executives decided to push the launch of the new Ram Express up.
Besides the obvious highlight of its powerful HEMI V8 engine, the 2011 Ram Express comes with a sporty body-colored front grill, a 3.55 rear axle ratio, chrome exhaust tips and 20-inch aluminum wheels. The Ram 1500 Express also comes with more than 300 Mopar accessories, including a 3.92 rear axle ratio, an anti-spin rear differential and a trailer brake controller.
“Given that the Ram 1500 Express is an aggressively priced truck, owners will have plenty left over to personalize and customize their ride,” Pietro Gorlier, president and CEO of Mopar said. “For this truck, Mopar will offer more than 300 quality-tested accessories from which to choose.”
